1. University of Pretoria, South-Africa, Community Outreach Project, 2008
In collaboration with the Radboud University Nijmegen and ICT4kids 9 dutch students of information science and Educational Science participated in the Community Based Learning course of UoP and the Community Outreach Project course of RUN. They carried out a practical assignment in the context of their study in the townships of Pretoria with the aim to contribute to basic ICT training of teachers, staff, community members and other interested community members of the selected schools and centres. Also ICt related material was developed and left behind with an instruction guide for further usage and development
2. Vezulwazi Primary School, Zithobeni township, Pretoria, South-Africa, 2008
In 2006 and 2007 5 ICT students have been assigned to this project. The school was equipped with 25 brand new computers, but no ICT knowledge was available among the staff members and teachers of the school. The students visited the school with approx 1000 pupils twice for three weeks in which the main focus was to integrate ICT in the existing curriculum, develop a teacher-teacher training, teach 7th and 8th grader children, age 10-14 years, the basic computer skills and Internet usage. Next to that the system administrator was guided and extra trained in maintenance and trouble shooting. Teaching and training materials and manuals for maintenance were left behind for further development and usage
3. Green Dream Company, the Netherlands, 2008
As a Project Coordinator co-responsible for constructive financial project development and putting up a structured and feasible digital working environment on project administration and project organisation. Furthermore responsible for coordination of the running and new projects. These projects had a national and international character, with a specific focus on Ethiopia
